The Las Cruces Museum of Fine Art’s main gallery has over 5,000 square feet of multi-use exhibition space. The gallery features curated, traveling, juried, and invitational exhibitions of contemporary art. Exhibitions are hosted by the Museum and the Museum’s supporting foundation, the Branigan Cultural Center Foundation.

Artists Luis Jiminez, David Hockney, Eileen Cowan, Esther Parada, and Graham Nash are among the talents who have exhibited in the Las Cruces Museum of Fine Art.

The Branigan Cultural Center serves as both history and art museum. As such, you'll find the work of local and regional artists displayed a few paces from a turn-of-the-century parlor.

When the Museum of Fine Art and Culture was completed in the spring of 1999, the Branigan Cultural Center it became the Las Cruces Historical Museum.


The Las Cruces Museum of Fine Art’s main gallery has over 5,000 square feet of multi-use exhibition space. The gallery features curated, traveling, juried, and invitational exhibitions of contemporary art.

Exhibitions are hosted by the Museum and the Museum’s supporting foundation,the Cultural Center Foundation.


The Las Cruces Museum of Natural History is dedicated to broadening people's understanding of natural history, science and the environment of the Chihuahuan Desert.

The Museum provides exhibitions and a variety of educational opportunities for families.

The log cabin dates from the late 1870's, when it was built in the once flourishing mining town of Grafton, New Mexico.

Located in the Black Range Mountains, northwest of Las Cruces, it was disassembled and brought to Las Cruces in celebration of the Bicentennial.

The Ballet Folklorico was established by Jose Tena in 1979 to preserve the rich heritage of traditional regional Mexican dances through researching, recording, teaching and popularizing the varied and colorful cultural heritage of Mexico.

The New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum is 47 acres packed with real stories about real people.

The interactive museum, which has welcomed visitors from all over the world, brings to life the 3,000-year history of farming and ranching in New Mexico.

The University Art Gallery serves as a showcase for contemporary visual arts in the border region.

The largest visual arts facility in South Central New Mexico, the gallery presents six to nine exhibitions annually.

Established in 1945, White Sands Missile Range is America’s largest overland military test range. At White Sands the world entered the Atomic Age when the first atomic bomb was tested at Trinity Site on July 16, 1945.

Space Murals, Inc. Museum and Gift Shop is located behind a huge water tank painted with images from the X-15 to the Challenger accident. Inside the museum is an Astronaut Gallery, Air & Space Artifacts including 2,500 pictures, a space shuttle replica, model airplanes, a Space Station Freedom, a kids corner, and a small library of space related information.

The United States Govenment built Fort Selden near the town of Las Cruces in 1865 to protect settlers from outlaws and Apache Indians, and for a quarter of a century it served its purpose.

The fort housed one company of infantry and cavalry, including units of black troops whom the Indians called "Buffalo Soldiers."
