Steps on How to Refinish Your Chairs
If you’re someone like me who likes to keep their Home elegance furniture looking fresh or brand new then chances are you’ve thought of buying a new set every now and then. Well, purchasing a new set of furniture can be quite expensive but there are less expensive alternatives. You could have it refinished by a professional, or you can do it yourself! The first step in refinishing your Home elegance chairs furniture would be to strip off the old finish. If you are going to use an opaque finish and the old finish is not blistered or peeling, then it’s perfectly safe to skip this one but I would still recommend you do so. To do this, you have to spread newspapers on the area where you will be working on to prevent unwanted stains on the floor. Then apply a layer of paint remover and let it sit there for 10 minutes or so. After that, gently push the surface to check if the remover has set. If not, wait a few more minutes and try again. Once it has set, lay another coat and wait for another 10 minutes. After waiting for the second coat to set, remove the finish by making long scraping motions. Use a scrub brush on the legs and a toothbrush for the corners. Use several more layer of paint remover to get everything off. Use a thinner and a scrub brush to take off the excess material produced by the finish and remover. You can apply the finish after the furniture is fully stripped. |
